Full itinerary

The trip is all inclusive, all admission fees, service fees and all meals are included, except for day 1 where lunch and dinner are included and day 5 where breakfast is included. 

Day 1

Pickup in Reykjavík*.  The group will meet their local guide.   Drive to Sólheimar eco village where you will get to know a community where disabled and non disabled people live and work together. Lunch will be served in Friðheimar tomato farm where the tomatos grow all around. At Friðheimar the group will get a chance to pet Icelandic horses. The group will make their way to Flúðir where they will visit the Secret lagoon, a natural hot pool. Dinner will be served in a local restaurant. Overnight stay in a local guesthouse. Included lunch and dinner.

* If the group is arriving to Iceland that day, there is an option to be picked up at the airport. 

Day 2

The group will drive to Gullfoss waterfall, then a short drive into the highlands of Iceland where they will explore the black desert in a short hike and hear ghoststories and folklore. A visit to a local church with more folklore.  Lunch will be served in a local pizzeria where the toppings are mostly from local farms and greenhouses. In the afternoon the guests will visit a couple, Dagný and Jón, who run a permaculture garden on their land. They will serve home made bread and tea from locally picked herbs. There will be time to walk around their little greenhouses and vegetable gardens, and sit down for a chat. Before having dinner and icecream at Efsti Dalur restaurant the group will explore Geysir hotspring. Overnight stay in a local guesthouse. Included breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 3

The day will begin at the local hotspring of Reykholt where your guide will place black rye bread doe in a pan where it will bake for the next 24 hours. A local greenhouse where fresh flowers are produced will be visited.  The group will drive to Skálholt Cathedral which history spans over 1000 years. The group will hear stories of powerful bishops, secret love, crazy vikings, strong women, skeletons and pouring rain.  From the past the group will get a tour from a local family that runs a greenhouse with organic production. The tour ends with a lovely lunch within the greenhouse.  The group will travel up beside river Þjórsá, the longest river in Iceland, visiting secret natural wonders, an oasis in the lava and a waterfall.  A dinner on the way back and an overnight stay in a local guesthouse. Included: breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 4

Before taking off the guide will pick up the ready black rye bread from the hotspring bringing it with as a packed lunch amongst other local delicatessens. The group will travel to Þingvellir national park where they will get admission to a new interactive exhibition explaining the history and nature of Þingvellir national park.  The group will get a guided tour around the sights at Þingvellir but also a short hike at the outskirts of the park including a packed lunch with black rye bread, Icelandic flat bread and various local delicatessens. On the way back the group will visit "The Cave people" who will show how local people lived in a cave not so long ago. The group will have dinner in a local restaurant and end the evening in Fontana Spa in Laugarvatn. Overnight stay in a local guesthouse. Included: breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 5

After checkout at the guesthouse the group will explore a volcanic crater and then a geothermal powerplant before arriving in Reykjavík where the tour ends.*  Included: breakfast.

*Pickup and dropoff at KEF airport. The tour can either start at the KEF airport or in Reykjvík, depending on the plans of the group.

A trip to the Blue lagoon can be added either at the beginning or the end of the tour.

By taking this tour visitors can spend longer time in Iceland either before or after the tour.
